For what it's worth I ordered my '04 Impreza RS on Feb. 26th through the VIP program. They gave me an estimate of 6-8 weeks so I'm expecting it the end of April, early May at the latest.
I would assume it's the same for the WRX.

P.S. The prices CAN'T be beat! Some claim to get their cars "below invoice" but that "invoice" is an inflated figure. Through the VIP program you truly DO get it AT invoice cost, not to mention any options you order are at invoice cost as well. I saved almost $1000 just on the options!

I simpy emailed my dealer and he said I can get it at invoice including the options ('04WRX). I did have to send in a deposit check though. Are there any other advantages to the VIP besides just the invoice pricing? Do you have to pay a fee or anything?

There's no fee for the VIP program as it's only available to certain people.
The biggest upside of the whole deal is they bend over backwards to satisfy you simply because you're part of that program! I would expect surveys on the dealership, your salesman, the car, etc after delivery of your car.

Also note that IMBA isn't the only orginization (but does seem to have the "cheapest" membership fee)
Also for those that aren't familiar with the program, it does seem you need to be a member for 6 months before you can take advantage of the program, and sorry boy's and girls, the STi is not included in the "Invoice" price deal.
Alll in All, it is a great way to save $ on a new Subie!
