used sti with many problems. plz help

Hey everyone. Just purchased an 06 sti last month. Has 40k miles after test driving everything seemed fine. Here I am a month later and the CEL light is on. (evaporative emissions leak. Very small) also the steering shakes at low speeds when I turn. Car makes a whine sound and gets louder when I rev and turn. (goes away after car has warmed up) I also had a tire blow out on the freeway. Tires weren't new but they were top brand probably 50% tread life. So I replaced all 4 tires.

So my question. Shouldn't the dealer pay for this or give me a new car? There was no warranty but dam its only been a month. There has to be some law.

Car is stock besides catback invidea exhaust.

Buyer beware, you shouldn't have bought a used car without a warranty.
Live and learn =\.

The shaking steering could be a bent\blown out tie rod end or blown wheel bearings.
Not sure on the wine but sounds like transmission OR power steering pump.

The wine could be a few things. I did some searching because my car started to do the wine (but only on cold days until it warms up) and it could be a few different things related to your power steering, ranging from air in the lines, to a bad seal at the ps pump, to a blown power steering pump or blown rack. Since you also have wheel vibration i would suggest taking it to a shop for a proper diagnosis. Like mentioned earlier see if your still under warranty. My noise happened right after the clock hit 60k. I am hopping mine is a simple seal on the back of the pump where the hose connects.

Best of luck

pay that deductible and have them do a complete inspection. The way to get this is to mention every single vibration, noise, hesitation in drivetrain, drivability issues, check oil and see if you are consuming oil.. do a compression test if you can.
