Think I'll get charged labor for this?
I made an appt. this friday to get my oil changed and also to get the driver's side power window fixed. I'm sure many have had the problem of the actuator screws falling out, making the window go up and down in a "herk-jerky" motion. Anyways, I tried fixing the problem myself a coulple months ago by taking off the door panel. I could see one of the screws had completely fallen out. So I tried fixnig it and had to cut the plastic covering to get at the screw. I couldn't get this one screw in, but managed to get at the others to tighten them (all were loose). So, when they figure out I'd already tried to fix this, will this void any warranty work, mainly regarding labor? I won't lie to them. I'll just tell them I tried to put the screw back in but couldn't and decided to get them to do it. A minor problem, but what can I expect? Thanks.

Wow, ok, I won't say anything. But, I have one of the screws from inside the door. Should I assume they will have extras? Otherwise I'd give it to them, but then that would tip them off. Won't they know anyways? After all, there are 4 slit marks where all the screws are. I used a razor blade to cut through the plastic. You really think they will believe it came from the factory that way? Oh well, we'll see. Oh, BTW, this is a 2002 wrx. For some reason this did not show up in my sig. Thanks.

Yes dodn't say anything
I work at a dealership ( non autmotive) and the additude is usually just gey the "just finish" the job
They will have a bolt bin around for the missing bolt
If you don't like that, drop the bolt back in the door.
