Okay, if a near $100k car with a 450 hp twin turbo V6 with all wheel drive and superb handling(that will be the new Nissan Skyline that hits our showrooms this fall!) that stacks up against Porsches(new 911 450hp twin turbo flat 6 all wheel drive and costs about $120K) and Ferraris all day long, then why is not a super car? If what I have just described is not a super car than I don't know what one is.

Yes to a certain extent. The STi offers a lot for a fraction of the price of cars that cost 3 to 5 times more than the STi, a lot of those cars can't dream of doing what the STi could potentially do, or at least not as well. So for about $35k you get a versatile car with super car like performance. It what makes a Subaru a Subaru.

Also, Toyota is a super gay for letting Lexus take over their sport car production.
In the late 70's to mid 90's Porsche rallyed the 911 turbo all around the world and was pretty successful. Subaru could enter into another type of automobile racing, who says if they build a fast car it will have to be used as a rally car. Le Mans comes to mind, Subaru has the perfect platform and technology to build and evolve from.

Actually a supercar would be like a Porsche GT, Ferrari F50, or the ultimate... McLaren F1.

When I think supercar, I think 600+ HP, two seater, mid-engine, RWD... 450 hp, 2+2 seating, etc. is what I would call a really good "sports car". Still very nice, but not a supercar.

The 911 turbo, as good of a performer as it was/is, does not equal "super car".

Also, there was a mild amount of sarcasm in my previous post. Since it seems like Subaru doesn't want to be involved in any racing that doesn't involve lots of dirt.
