I hope SOA didn't wait too long before making those positive changes (power and handling upgrades) to the Impreza WRX for 2009. The 2008 model was quite a letdown to Subaru enthusiasts to get a slightly heavier car with weaker performance. The additional 40 hp at higher rpm and the wider torque band are what is needed to compete with performance cars in the same price range.

Subaru uglified and pussified the Impreza to appeal to a wider, mainstream market. Looks like they accomplished their goal.
