Subaru 2.5 RS

Anyone knows, will the new 2.0L wrx engine fit into a 2001 impreza 2.5rs. If it fits, what much will it cost to buy the new engine (the price include turbo kit and exclude turbo kit), and where I can buy it? Thank you!

yes it fits, many people have done the swap, iirc, the total swap costs around $7k

i could be worng though on the price

There are always ej20's up for sale on ebay. You can pick up a jdm unit for a few grand.

Definitely fits. Putting the engine in the RS is the easy part, it's hooking up the ECU to work with the engine and the RS sensors/guages that's the biggest headache. It can be done, and I think there's even a place in California that specializes in this swap (since it's CARB legal).

there's a guy on RS25.com name Magic(something) who did this. 7K is about right.. He had to re-route the battery to the trunk. It came out looking awesome.. Haven't heard from him in a while though...

donor powerplants -eng&trans- can be had for 2,ooo and up. Its worth the call to the auto recyclers. Ask about a package deal, eng, trans, ECU and harness.
