Sti has a mind of its own?

2006 sti, Invidia TBE(catless) and XPT stage 2 map.

So here is the issue:

Bought this car in Nov and driving it around I wasnt impressed with its power. I wanted to (throw me in the back seat when I get on it) I dont know if its the AWD and it feels very different compared to RWD and FWDs.

Every now and then I commute in it and at all different hours. There has been a few times after coming home from work 6am-7am 75 miles from the bay to the valley my car seems to way more power when I get back in town. Scary power to be honest. Also the car sounds a lot meaner. It has never acted like this in the afternoon doing the same commute.

So whats the deal? (we are talking Night/Day difference)

My car does it sometimes too. I have decided it all depends on temperature, if there is a lot of humidity out, and things such as that. I could be blowing smoke tho, who knows

No joke and No boost leak,

I do get a CEL light for Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak) and thats not going to cause the car to act funny.

weird...
Perhaps the cooler night air is cooling your intake charge better, enough to make a noticeable difference?

Maybe you are boost creeping. I know that is common for 2.5Ls with catless exhaust systems. Do you have a boost gauge?

You should have a compression check and leak down test.

on cooler days my car runs and boost smoother.. i think its a mix of humidity and outside air temperature.
