I don't think the winner does the *** wiping.
In regards to Subaru and BMW and that ilk, the Subaru is a great car for the money IN IT'S CLASS. I don't agree that the WRX and M5 are being compared nor comparable. They just happen to be great cars in their range.
The BMW has sport driving as one of it's virtues but it's also a larger and more luxury car. The WRX is smaller with economy and performance in mind.
It's a reliable economy car not to be confused with cars that reach for a different level of quality in workmanship and materials.
The Neon and WRX are in the same class, economy cars with awesome performance. The WRX gets the nod in quality and build off the bat.
However, the SRT4 has yet to prove itself. It may surprise us or it may confirm the common wisdom.
