Yeah, something is up with the first owner to have bad cats by 23k...

I'm thinking he might have run some leaded 110 or something, and ruined the cats and 02 sensors. But it could be bad modding.

I would move away from it.

u can easily find a 03 WRX for the same price, the 04's are being sold now and the 03's are much cheaper, plus 03 have more updated patches, like the fixed clutch shudder, and the time cooling for the turbo isnt as essential, although to be on the safe side its better to let ur car idle for a a couple 1-2 minutes before u turn off ur car if u drove ur car hard past 3000rpm a lot. the 03 is much better deal for wat u get.

first let me tell you that we dont have any problems with the cats on these cars-the problem was from the previous owner-i get so many kids coming in with all these added on aftermarket crap that fouls things up-that convertor was run to rich to need replacment this early if ever.plz dont get me wrong,add on are not bad,only if you do ur homework on them first.
