Sedan/ Coupe vs. Wagon
Does one out-perform another? I would think it comes down to if the driver knows his car and how to drive it correctly, but is it possible the added weight of the wagon could slow down the turbo? I always see the sedan, but the wagons are far and few in between. I didn't know if mayeb i am missing something or am completely out of the loop. Thanks.

well besides the fact that the wagons are somewhat ugly, its not quite the same. the suspension onthe sedan is what Sub. calls a Sport Tuned Suspension, and it is different. also the weight ratio is different for obvious reasons. there are a couple more things the sedan has that the wagon does not, but they have slipped my mind at the moment. something about the drivetrain i think...

So ... I'm pretty much better off the with sedan then? I want the performance, but I was trying to stay away from the sedan since the boyfriend is getting one. Plus he will always out-perform me since he has so many modifications. Maybe if I get it in another color he won't notice. *lol*

Everything you can do to the sedan you can do to the wagon.the only difference is 80 lbs more that the wagon has. Suspension wise on the sedan or the wagon, stock needs to go, My wagon has tien flex wityh edfc, and if you get a wagon there are fewwer of them so you wont be like everyone else. But dont get me wrong i like the sedan as much as the wagon, but i like hatches more than sedans, and again not that many of them fixed up.

hey there,
me again...
stock for stock, there is not much of a difference between the two. especially performance wise. here's how it breaks down...
sedan has 20mm total wider track.
sedan has "sport tuned" (read: a tad bit stiffer springs) suspension.
sedan has 20 mm rear sway bar.
sedans suspension geometry is a bit different to compensate for the wider track.
wagon weighs about 100 extra pounds. that is not that much.
wagon is better balanced due to a more 50/50 balance
wagon shares same suspension (for the most part) with the older GC8 chassis, so still an awesome handling car.
wagon has a TON more room to haul stuff.
wagons make a great sleeper, especially with a cute chick driving one
wagons (to me) look better.
the reality is, throw some eibach springs on the wagon, put on a 20mm rear sway bar (it bolts on), get some wider tires or wider rims and tires, and the wagon is just as capable a car. when alex and i first got our cars, we drove each others cars, and we could not see any difference.
if i get another rex (err when ) it will more likely be an STi, which will only come in a sedan body style at first. no biggie. i will probaly also have an audi S4 avant or a turbo legancy to offset the sedan. if the STi came over as a wagon, I would get it hands down....
if you like the wagon, get one. your boyfreind will proly end up driving it more....

Very nice skills when picking up on the family thing with the wagon. Many men don't think like that, but some girls do look for that qaulity, at least those not worried about getting booty like me. Keep that mind set, make it fast to stay respectable, and be a good guy. *lol* She will love the fact you have a fast car that can get the groceries home even quicker. I promise. :-)
