I think that economics of reality dictate no other choice. I've already purchased two t-shirts to help support ScoobyMods.com but they need long term help in the form of subscriptions to keep up and running. I can afford it and I think the site is great so they get a one-year subscription from me today.

Done. Paid for one-year subscription via ScoobyMods.com link to PayPal.
There's one problem with the way Kastle had to implement the ScoobyMods.com subscriptions - they don't allow access for potential new members without paying for a trial membership first. If I now post a link to a ScoobyMods.com install page, a n00b won't be able to view it without shelling out a minimum of $2.95.

I'm clueless when it comes to the web voodoo side of Scoobymods. The only part I play is the picture taking , info gathering and question answering guy. I have to admit I don't like the idea either. We have been trying to avoid this since december. Kastle did loose his job in October and I think he's still paying on some of the hardware he got when he was employed. Anyway, feel free to join the bashfests already in progress here:

There is no need to own your own hardware. Even for the site as big as i-Club, it is not needed. You can "lease" a nice server for about $250/month or even stay on a shared hosting plan. I doubt the Scoobymods.com site gets anywhere near the traffic we get here and I just have a simple dedicated server.
I can host that site on my server, but knowing that for whatever reason Kastle has something against me, I know they won't agree to it.
I don't need anything out of the deal. I just host it for them. If they want, they can even not tell anyone where it is hosted at. I don't care. I think it will be better for the community this way, but I know Kastle would rather take his site down than take help from me. Oh well.

This would also eliminate my concerns about folks new to Subies not having access Scoobymods.com. It's tough for people to cough up bucks to support something they've never seen. As it is currently, I can't post a direct link to a mod like I used to because they have to become supporting members, first.

It seemed to me like a lot of people didn't know we were asking for help and were caught off guard when the site went to PPV for the mod section. We are going to have another go and hopefully before the end of July it will be open to everyone again. Please view this link for details:

the above thread will be the main one that will have the tally updates.
Thanks,

Why not simply consider Imprezer's very generous offer for (free) hosting??
It'll solve everyone's problems at this point. Instead of rallying for donations, subscriptions, etc., this is much easier, both for Kastle and scoobymods readers.
