RS vs. TS vs. OBS
Can someone explain the difference between "Heavy duty suspension" (OBS), "Sport suspension" (RS), and "Strut suspension" (TS)?
I'm looking for best ride on long highway 70 mph commute. Also, TS has 15" wheels which should make ride a little smoother (yes or no?). I don't plan to take the car offroad much.
Also, can any RS/TS type mods (CAI, underdrive pulley, Catback, etc.) be done on OBS with exact same parts?
Dealer is offering me 2003 TS for $17,250 and similarly equipped OBS for $17,800. I don't mind the cladding, kinda like it actually.
I know many will be tempted to say, "Just take all three out for a test drive and decide for yourself". Well, I do intend to do that but I will not be able to simulate a 3 hour drive during the test drive, so I would like to get the opinions of those who own these cars.
Thanks in advance
Robert

The TS has lower spring rates and softer strut settings. The OBS has an additional 1" of extra height due to the springs being taller (struts are pretty much the same as the rest) and the RS is very simular rate wise to the WRX sedan.
I didnt like the TS suspension, it was too soft. But the WRX suspension is perfect for what you want, and you can just get a TS or OBS and get a used WRX wagon suspension for ~$200 or less and install it yourself (I know, sounds hard, but its just bolts)
Or, you can get a RS which has a suspension very simular to the WRX, which makes it the best handling of the three easily. I worry more about the lack of rear disc brakes on the TS and OBS models though...

Someone on another thread posted that the sdifference in stopping distance between front disc/rear drum and all disc brakes was not real great. I will look in to it though.
I did drive the WRX twice and found the suspension a little stiff for what I need. But I might drive it again!
