Remember, it's the other guy that you need to watch out for
Some lady tonight was more interested in getting her cigarette lit than watching for oncoming traffic as she pulled out of Dunkin Donuts while obscured behind a tractor-trailer parked on the side of the road.
End result: My car has a crushed bumper, smashed grill, smashed head & fog lights, crumpled hood, bent radiator, a destroyed front fender, probably a bent sub-frame and I have a twinge in my back. By sheer dumb luck (or my evasive manouevering) she missed hitting my front wheel as she ACCELLERATED clear across the lane I was rapidly trying to leave (to avoid her), right into me, so hopefully no mechanical damage.
I knew I should have replaced my fogs and my headlights with those 100W "off-road use only" bulbs I found last month. Maybe I should have the collision shop repaint it safety-orange too...

Five years ago when I drove a 1991 Dodge Spirit (non-turbo) I never noticed how bad other ppl drive. Having 5 brand new cars/trucks since 1998 I have started to notice (1998 Dodge Dakota, 1999 Dodge Durango, 2000 Subaru Legacy GT (wagon of course), 2001 Toyota Tocoma (picked the toyota up on 9/11), 2002 WRX Wagon). It seems the newer your car/truck, the worse people seem to drive around you.
My second day with my Rex and a guy blew a stop sign about 200 yards from my house. Luckily I no longer trust anyone else to drive properly. Now I just assume they are coming after me and the Rex.
Good luck getting your car fixed.
