As if the British motor company Prodrive wasn’t busy enough running Aston Martin’s racing program or trying to break into Formula One on its own, now they’re putting their Group N and WRC experience to use, introducing kits for the Subaru Impreza WRX and Subaru WRX STI .
The 4,500€ kit is expected to bring power up to about 400PS (395hp). With the extra power comes a bigger and more powerful brake kit to keep things in proportion. The good news is that the kit will be available from the dealership as an authorized modification - so the warranty stays intact, says the gang at Autoblog.it. The bad news is that it’s only going to be available in the UK, at least from what we can tell so far. But for those of you in Old Blighty, get your savings going now and you’ll enjoy some serious rally-inspired performance when the kit goes on sale next year.
Subaru’s standard WRX is also expected to get a kit to spice things up, although it will be a bit tamer than the STI’s package. No word yet on the details of the WRX modifications though. We’ll keep you updated as details develop.
