Possible WRX problems
My 03 WRX has been running great for about 14,000 miles now. But just today I noticed that it has been very sluggish near 4500rpm and up. Could that be due to faulty spark plugs? Do I need a tune up? It is sluggish in all gears. It just started happening and I do see any signs that anything else could be the problem. Could this be a sign that my turbo is not working? any info would be great.

if you live somewhere, where it is cold during the winter and then warms up a great deal for the summer, that is probably it. not much you can do about it. water sprayer, throw some ice on the intercooler, intake might help a little. i have 2002 and i live in NY and my car always runs the best during the colder months. runs much better once the clutch gets warmed up. i don't think it is the ground. does your engine run less smooth than usual. cause if it also does that, then it may be the grounding mod. its a good mod to get anyway. Just get some 8 gauge and ground your battery to 4 or 5 more places on your car. Subaru's are known for not being grounded well. even if it isn't the ground it will still help you to run smoother and keep the power up.

the problem went away a few hours later, i had just washed the car and then all of a sudden...no power. i drove it later on that day and my power was all back. maybe it didnt like being clean or something
...grounding mod? grounding to 4 or 5 places on the car? i would assume (since I am a professional mobile audio installer and have a AA in electrical engineering), that grounding the battery should be done with a 4 gauge or smaller wire from the battery to the chassis of the car.

yes, thats what you should do for grounding. HKS actually makes a grounding kit, but why spend the money when you can do it yourself. it looks like they used 8 gauge. my friend got the HKS and says that it stopped his lights from dimming under hard throttle and it also made his engine run smoother. i can vouch for the lights cause he showed me and the engine i couldn't really tell, but i never drive his car so i don't know about the engine. well either way look into, i am going too, can't hurt
