Quick comments, mostly seconding what others said, about hits to usability in the new format:
-- Too slow and choppy now, it's a pain scrolling through posts and new pages take forever to load.
-- Graphics look nice but as others have said waste too much space and make reading threads more or a pain.
-- I liked the layout with name on the left better, again it just seems like a better use of space.
-- Dark background is good, listen to IS2Scooby.
But thanks for working so hard on the site, I'm sure we'll get something that works well once you've had a chance to work with it a bit.

I'll chime in with a few things that have probably already been said.
I like the new backend. VB3.0 looks good, under the skin. I'm having some problems with the looks of the site as it is right now. Maybe I'll get used to it, maybe I won't. It'll take a few days for me to decide that point.
Other then that, I can definitely see a marked improvement in a lot of ways, the drop down menus for one. But, I think there is too much unnecessary space between posts in a thread. I don't know if that can be reduced or not.
I also now have to scroll horizontally, as the default page width is larger then my typical brower width. I'm hope that can be changed.
A few thing I hope come back soon, scooby snacks, quickquote and quickreply.. um, thats about it.
Keep up the good work Alex.

More thoughts...
the greyscale theme looks very nice, but I don't think its very functional. With the old version it was very easy to distinguish new posts/threads from old ones with the yellow versus blue color scheme. I don't think the three dots thingie that delinates new posts/threads doesn't stand out enough in my eye.

When you're in an actual thread you can:
1)have the option of a swear filter
2)have any 150x150 avatar after 100 posts
3) Have reasonable signatures WITHOUT graphics
4) have your own Titles
5) the lay out is easy on the eyes.
6) the search feature is advanced.
Overall very nice foum without ANY complaints. Just a thought for you too.

The "imagize" color scheme/skin is easier on the eyes than the "ambience" one that was up this morning. Thanks for giving us the option.
But still, I find myself distracted by the small font size, especially in comparison to the larger fonts for the screennames. My eyes seem to be drawn to the bigger font and I end up missing the message content.

How do you guys like this?
I will keep this style on until I finish my customizations.
I disabled the choice for now until I figure some other things out.
I like this theme more myself, however, it once again, looks like NASIOC, which is in fact my old school traditional design that I did based on the SWRT color scheme. My Imprezer's Lair was that color. I want to move on and create a new color theme. I got some ideas and some of thos will be implemented later on tonight.
