I have about 10,000 pics on my PC.

I have been moving them from pc to pc and I am sure I have many doubles now.

How can I sort everything I have and eliminate doubles easily?

Also, what do you guys use to orgazine your pics? A LOT OF PICs.

Something that can make picture storing fun and easy.

First, separate them into blondes, brunettes, and redheads.

Hmm, maybe first find a freeware utility to find duplicate filenames and prune the number of pics that way. As for organizing, I don't have enough to warrant any real organizing other than like street cars, race cars, rally cars, JDM cars, i-Club events, members' cars, etc.

I use iPhoto, which allows you to batch rename, delete, etc. to your library. Of course, it is only available for the Macintosh. I think there is a good PC utility as well. Try a search on download.com...It should find some good ones.

adobe photosho album, cnet.com has a shareware which might be enough to do the things you need.

What about zip folders? You could compress them, and store easily seperated on a CD or a single folder.

Alex, I also use an older version of Photodex's CompuPic. It can manage images in existing folders, create new folders, perform copy/move functions, much like Windows File Manager or Explorer.

It can create picture indexes (indices) of your pics and sequentially number the index files. It can convert between any image format as well as a number of other image manipulation functions, although it is not an image editor, per se, like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (shareware).

CompuPic displays the image file contents of a folder as size-selectable thumbnails.

It can also read images with an incorrect or missing filename extension, and it lets the user know when an image is corrupted or contains an error.

Photodex has a trial version of CompuPic for downloading.
