Oil fitler Voids Warranty??
I know this is a stupid question, but someone told me recently that if you use a different oil filter than what is provided with the car (and what is replaced at the dealership) that it voids the warranty. Now, that's hard to believe...but has any one heard this? I just want to make sure especially since I have the extended warranty. Thanks everone.

Not true.
If there is a consumable part on a car (i.e. oil filter, air filter, light bulbs), and it needs replacing, unless the manufacturer will replace the part for free under the terms of the warrenty, you can replace them with whatever you want to, and it will not void any part of your warrenty. You have to replace it with compatible part, of course. So using a mason jar fith a sock in it for an oil filter will probably void a good piece of your engine warrenty, but as long as you use an oil filter designed to be used on your vehicle, the manufacturer can't say a thing about it.
