Oil filter torque?

You should only hand tighten it. It usually says on the filter but something like 3/4 of a turn after it's snug. If you tighten it too much you risk a leak. It's always best to start the car twice after you change the oil and the second time while the car is running get out and look to check for leaks. If you tighten it too much you can squish the gasket get a leak.

This is how my dad taught me to do it almost 20 years ago and I've never had a problem with a filter leaking nor have I ever had any problem removing a filter that I have installed.

It's usually one hand to put it on and two to get it off. If it's done right you really shouldn't need a filter wrench to get it off. I always seem to need one though just to get it started.
