OBS vs. 2.5 RS
I have an '03 OBS and a friend has an '03 2.5 RS. His is faster than mine. I know this is a stupid obvious statment, but my point is why? They both have the same engine don't they? Is it the tranys or is it the engine programing, or somthing else? Can anything be done to make my OBS go faster, especialy in low end acceleration? Please have mercy on me and don't laugh too hard at my ignorance. Thanks

I don't know much about the new RS and OBS. I would assume they have the same engine and tranny. It could be placebo though. I would suggest you "race" him and find out for sure.
There isn't much you can do cheaply to increase low end torque on a NA car. I had a legacy GT before the rex and added your standard intake and cat back. While they gave me some more power up top it took it away from down low. You could put in cams but that isn't so cheap and by that time you could have bought a WRX wagon.
Keep her stock, its a great car.

On second thought, you might be able to get a ECU reflash and have your car tuned for some more power. But that isn't really all that cheap. $500-$1000.
