I'm brand new on this forum. I'm a frenchy (so scuze me for my bad english !) and just new owner of the Impreza STI 2003.

In France, the engine is a 2.0 Turbo 16, 265 hp, 0-100 km/h 5.5s. I have changed the rear STI spoiler by a WRX one. I try to show you some pictures :

Yes. The US got a totally new engine presumably because our exhaust requirements and crappy gas would've made it impossible to get decent power for the amount of money spent if it had been a 2.0.

 

265 hp?

i thought thos export versions are supposed to be 276 as well

anyway..

we are getting the better engine...

To answer a few questions I've read:

North America is the only continent to be using the 2.5 liter engine.

Even though the JDM engines do get 276 hp, Euro-spec motors get 265 hp (apparently up from 262 hp for the models it replaces) due to their own regulations and such that Subaru had to work around.

Not all STi models get the big wing that we've been seeing; the recent STi models had the Impreza stock-style wing as well.

I have paid this new STI 34800 euros (with all the papers, gaz, ground sheet and the rear wing changed...)

For the rear wing : i haven't done it myself, it's my Subaru garage. He told me he had to change all the rear case because the holes for the wing are not at the same place...

Les gens ont l'air cool ici sur ce forum et ce sont tous des passionnés. Heureusement ils sont suffisamment intelligents pour ne pas mélanger la passion automobile et les problèmes de guerre. C'est le principal. A bientôt !

 

Sweet pictures man! Nice looking Subie. The swap of the wings in my opinion makes this new impreza STi look even more agressive.

Just to let u all know how **** my country is LittleAlan paid €34800 for his brand new STi....In ireland it wud of cost him €54000! I tell ya im emigrating!!!!!

 

Salut encore je essairai de taide a comprendre que cest quils te demande Il ssont en train de demande ton opinion de la nouvelle control pour le transmission awd sur ton console ou il devrait wetre ton chaine de laserdisque il devrait avoir un un commutateur de console pour la commande de différentiel variable. Ta compris par ce que jai du mal a faire le translation par ce que jai 33 ans ca fait long temps que jai ecris quel qun en francais je me pardonne ca me embete tellement
