Looking to buy
Well i made my trip down to the dealer today, and my dealer has the msrp on the car and then their sticker price next to it, this dealer has some kind of sales strat or whatever u wanna call it, and the price is usually lower then msrp. example the silver wrx i looked at was stock, msrp was 24500, and they were selling it for 23450. Now i hear ppl getting it for like 23500 otd without anything...i want the spoiler, and a few other accessories and feel 24500 otd would be my goal, any suggestions on getting that price. cause the dealer says their price is "for" the customer hehe. but on a side note the salesman was very helpful and polite.

i think you need to do more research on your prices, dealers, options, and discounts going on.
the 03 WRX are right now... Obsolete... the new stying is coming it and they are trying to get rid of em.
i know you can do a lot better than what they are asking.
I got my 03 silver WRX MT5 Wagon... everything:
*taxes
*registration
*plates
*destination fee
*doc fees
*and the car (completely stock)
all for under MSRP
I called several dealers, asked em how much the "Hold Back" was to get a Non-BS value by averaging em out
I called the dealers that had my car instock
I told em exactly what I wanted: Invoice Price - Dealer Hold Back
And I worked with the best dealer to get my car.
Dealer HoldBack is what Subaru gives the dealer to pay for: having the car as inventory on the lot, keeping it clean, etc.
So if the dealer says that they need money/fees, for those things, be careful.
To the dealers that said that I shouldn't ask them to give up the HoldBack, I said, "It's not my fault you couldn't sell the car, the sooner you sold it, the more of the Holdback you could keep... SEE YA!"
To the dealers that said they won't make money at the price I was asking, I said, "No, you'll make 500 (which is an acceptable profit in the business, but i know i'm gonna get sh*t for this from someone who sells cars or whose friend/wife/dog sells cars, but when it's your 500 bucks that you could put into that V.2 front end, those folks might change their mind, anyway)... because I'll take the special financing."
At the time, January, there was specialfinancing OR 500 rebate on the WRX's
Plus, there are under the table rebates for dealers that we usually don't know about.
Options:
* I got the car with NO options
* I got the options myself online: www.subaruwrxparts.com
* Much cheaper
* I installed stuff myself: free and very rewarding... PRICELESS
* The OEM options are EZ to install (the mirror took 10 minutes)
* oh, I know you can order the rear spoiler online, but i think I would take that one from the dealer (but find how much invoice and MSRP on those are first and pick a price inbetween) cuz if you order it online, it might get damaged... and will probably end up being a nightmare... that's what happened to my JDM lights... UPS never leaned what "FRAGILE" means.
All this research took me about 2 months... hope this helps you out... and gives you a BIG head start over me.

nope they're not warranted.
the only subaru parts i bought:
Electronic Mirror,
Rear Diff protector
and rubber mats
(i don't think a warrany is really needed for these things)
And i hear the subaur short shifter linkage isn't worth it... better off getting a kartboy

thxs momo, your advice was very helpful, do you have any opinions on the tire package they sell? the ones i saw were oz and bbs, and they were very nice...
oh and momo one other thing, i was going to e-mail the 4 dealers around me, could you let me know what i should tell them, like im looking at 4 other dealers and i want the car OTD at invoice price, whatever dealer gets to that price first gets the sale...something like that possibly?
thxs again
