Great car, I have a 04 the wagon. The car loves a new rear sway bar to a stock sedan size, I think 21 or 22mm? ours on the wagon is a weak I think 17or18mm.
Also The stock tires must go! In your area you probbly need a winter biased one or get two sets of wheels, stock take off rims are cheap! I run The Toyo T1s up to a max size for our rim of 215-50 or 45-16's. The new tires and larger rear bar really really wakes up the car!
My wagon came alive with a Prodrive stage two reflash of the ECU together with the provided intercooler hose, catless midpipe, and rear muffler section. I added a helix up pipe wich brightened it up even more. Tomorrow I install a large bellmouth downpipe to replace the stock downpipe. i will be using a high flow cat converter after the downpipe.
This moderate simple mod has transformed a very mild performing stock wrx into a more responsive and much quicker car for not to much cash. Very driveable and still rides with comfort as I have not changed the springs or shock.
Enjoy.
