Introducing Twangu - Your group buy engine!
After many months of painful development, we are introducing Twangu.
Twangu, powered by Facebook and based upon the Chinese word "tuangou" for team shopping, allows you and your friends to join together to setup group buys on the stuff you and your friends want to buy (in that case, I'll assume that means performance parts...)
How does it work?
- Anyone can lead a group buy and name their terms including max price (think Priceline). Leader gets as many people to join the team (friends, friends of friends, strangers, etc)... the more people the better...
- After 5 days of recruiting their team, the team goes out to bid by vendors.
- After a 5 day vendor bidding period - the **lowest price wins** - a reverse e-bay where vendors bid on your business! (of course, they must meet the terms of the team)
Its a win-win for everyone... buyers get the stuff (parts), and vendors get a group of buyers who are financially committed to buying their product as a team - especially good with large volume teams!
We have already partnered with a few key high performance vendors, so take a look and start posting for the stuff you want (and take a look at some of the teams in process!)
There is no fee to use the system and team sizes can range from a single person to a team of 1000+++...
If no vendor bids, then the team is simply canceled. And if course, if the team gets big, who knows how low the prices can go...
So check us out at Twangu @ Facebook (http://fb.twangu.com)
Tell Twangu what you want, let the team grow, and let the vendors make you the deal...
We look forward to you joining us!
v/r,
John O'Brien

p.s. We are also looking for more vendors to partner with, so don't hesitate to sign up as a vendor. There is no cost to vendors unless there is a sale - so take a look! And we will beat ebay... or die trying...

The first wave of Facebook Verified Applications was released today, and Twangu, the group buying app, is proud to be part of the announcement.
As we developed and deployed Twangu, we knew it would be an uphill battle to gain the trust of our user commmunity and we felt going through Facebook's Verification program was a key component in gaining that trust. During our audit, we worked closely with Facebook to adhere to their design and privacy criteria, and we feel confident that by working together we have delivered an application that respects your social network of friends while also ensuring your finanical transactions are protected and secure.
