Intercooler Horn/ Sprayer Control
Hi Ya all,
I recently went to T-hill w/ my '04 sti and before I went I reworked my horn to act as my intercooler sprayer. As you know trying to activate the sprayer while driving is near impossible. All I did was hook my horn wires in front of the radiator to a 3 way toggle switch (inconspiculously mounted-where ever you want to) and then reconnected 1 side of the toggle to the horns and the other side to the intercooler switch (actually stripped a little bit of the wire to the sprayer -from the switch) and wha la I now control the intercooler sprayer with just my horn on the steering wheel. Instead of 2 second blast I now can run the cooler the whole front and back straights and just refill b/t sessions. It works awesome and for you draggers you could be running your right up to staging w/ cold ice water w/ water wetter (I do not know if this helps much but it aids in heat transfer- or so says the bottle). After the day is over I switch the toggle back and now my horn works and the normal i/c switch works. Maybe somebody has thought of this before but I had not seen any writings on it. FYI for you STi-ers.
