Insurance Rates on 2001-2004 WRXs
Being that I'm new to the board, I'm going to introduce myself.
My name is Eric Frischkorn.
Ok, Now that I've introduced myself, I'll get to the point.
I'm 18 years old and currently drive a 1995 Probe SE, which isn't too bad on insurance being that it's paid off. I intend on acquiring a 2002-2004 WRX sometime this year, Inwhich I will be making payments on.
I would rather imagine they aren't just listed as "Sedan" on insurance, nor "Imprezza" for that matter.
Just give me an idea of what payments would be or if there are any other 18 year olds on here whom own a WRX. I do have one speeding ticket, but that was almost 2 years ago.
Thanks for your time guys.

In a word WRX insurance "blows"...It was more expensive than the Acura RSX I traded in for it, which is suppoed to be one of the worst. I am over 25 married and no tickets so for me thats like 40 bucks a month. for you I would bet like 150 to 200 per month range

you're gonna pay through the nose. i'm 24 and my insurance premiums are arround $250/month for full coverage on my WRX even though i paid cash for it. admittedly, i have two tickets, but it's still f%cking obscene...

I'm 24 years old, single (now engaged) with a perfect driving record. I worked a good deal on a 2003 WRX last month. Called up my Allstate agent and I was quoted 1,600 dollars every 6 months. This is for 100k/300K coverage, 500 collision deducible and a 100 comprehensive.
I asked what my rates would be like on a WRX in a year after I get married and turn 25. With my fiancée on my insurance with a multi-car discount, and our multi policy discount I was quoted at $800 every six months. More than cut in half! So I'm going to wait a year and hope I can get a good deal on a 2004.

I'm 22, no tickets or accidents (at least until fault is decided in my latest loss )
If the accident, which will result in one point on my record, is determined as my fault, my rates will go up approx $600 a year. Right now, if you broke out my monthly, it would be $166/mo. If I am saddled with fault, it will go to $216/mo. I have full coverage, 100/300/50 with $1k deduct. Having $1k deduct isn't bad if you've put aside the money in advance, which I did - and it saves me like $500+/yr
If your lender only allows $500 deduct, ask them about setting up a hold in a savings account at their establishment. You would deposit $500 in to your account there, and you can't touch it until you need it for deductible repairs. Then, it's the equivalent of having a $500 deduct, which is what they want anyway. My CU let me do this, so I put $1000 in there..all to be spent (hopefully this week) when I get my car back.

Well I am in Ohio.
My Probe SE (That is the 4 cylinder model) is 1169 a year with Liability only.
Awhile ago, I was after a Foxbody Mustang GT (87-93) with the 5.0 engine. Well I had the Insurance company run the VIN of a '87 MGT, and they said it was 1049 a year with Liability only.
Didn't really understand that. A car 8 years older then the Probe, but yet being considerd a "Sports Car" being 100 cheaper per year.
Oh well.
Thanks for all the feed back guys, This is a very Promising board.

Well, This is my Senior year of Highschool(Finally, No more lame High school drama).
But yeah, I'll be 3 hours from home next year, I intend on going to DeVry in C-bus.
I thought about doing that, but I don't know. Nothing is really set in stone on what my next vehicle would be.
But I know I can't go wrong with AWD + Boost.

I'm 23, no accidents, no tickets, homeowner and I pay $2400 per year = $200 per month with $1k deductibles. Thank you very much, New Jersey!
Oh yeah, and I only drive 7 miles to work!
