Charlie,
My $64.00 a month is full coverage. I still have a lean against the car, and in CT you must have full coverage. I will also clearify the price a little. My employer offers home and auto insurance. I work for a company owned by Disney. Prudential and MetLife offer my company pretty good deals. Currently my insurance is with Metlife, the cost is deducted from my pay check every two weeks. This gives you a little extra discount. Same coverage with my old company (NationWide) would be about $400.00 more a year. Also keep in mind that I'm not 16, I'm 32 years old with an excellent driving record. Nothing on my record for the past 5 years.
The 32 was my age, not price for insurance. Although Metlife takes about $32.00 a paycheck, hence the $64.00 a month.
Trust me I know how crappy it is to have a newer car and have to pay ungodly high insurance. As you get older, it goes down. Staying out of trouble helps a lot also.
All said and done I pay about $800 a year for auto insurance, and yes that is full coverage.

Buying insurance isn't like buying eggs at the store. There are too many variables (age, record, gender, address, credit history) for you to get an accurate idea of what you should pay based on what others pay.
The best idea is to call around and get some quotes.

Car Info: Black WRX, X.S. turbo back exhaust, X.S. cold air, and a lot of plans
I have everyone bet! Mine is about $1700 ever 6 months, or 284ish on month. Full coverage, and thats is even with a 2g Deductable, and good grades, we get 15% with a B or better avg. Glade I'm not paying it right now, damn 18 with two ticket, a turbo and AWD.

Your quote is about right. I'm 26, a professional, but I have a reckless and a speeding (and this irritating failure to obey a highway sign for using a closed road on my motorcycle--my friend was running out of gas) and that makes me "high risk." I pay about $200/mo. w/ full coverage and a ridiculously low deductible. Insurance companies look at your age, gender, record, and, believe it or not, your credit rating to determine how much to charge you. They also consider if you have several policies with them, and things like that. You might be able to get them to drop the rate by 1) putting the 6 mo. or year amount on a credit card and thereby paying it all off at once, 2) checking your credit report to make sure there's nothing wierd on it, 3) asking if they'll give you a reduction for taking a driver re-ed. class, 4) having multiple policies (I don't know if this is possible for your, but another car, motorcycle, renters, life, home... whatever other insurance you have), or 5) shopping around. 5 sucks because it can be hard to get with another company if you have an existing ticket.
Also, look up how long tickets stay on your record in your state, and how long your insurance company goes back. My company goes back 5 years, but my state only keeps basic speeding on my record for 3 (if I remember correctly). The injury may not go to insult if you lose the record soon.
Still, you drive a $25k rally-inspired sports-car with a 227 horsepower engine... what do you expect? They have to assume there's some testosterone issues SOMEWHERE in that picture.

I got a new quote from different insurance co, $194.00/month with home renter's insurance included. I have one speeding ticket that raised the insurance by $17/month, it sucks.
THis is a better quote now i'm off to local credit union to secure a loan, hopefully i could get a car today or tomorrow.

i'd say you are doing alright. i pay $200 for my '95 talon tsi turbo, w/ one major accident, and one criminal speeding ticket in 4 years of having my liscence. $200 a month for a brand new does not sound too bad to me. then again i would not mind being WRblue and paying only $64!!!
