Unhappy I'm an Idiot! look what happened to my car!!!

I couldn't stop beating myself for letting this happened to my car. I'm an idiot.

First the bumper: Got home from work one night. Parked my car just at the bottom of my inclined driveway (my garage was full and couldn't find any parking in the street), As I was entering my house, my car started rolling down across the street, hitting the curb, jumped to my neighbor's lawn and then hit a concrete. I am idiot cuz I forgot to put the car in gear and I didn't pull the handbreak all the way up. . I'm such an idiot . . (Just fixed my neighbor's lawn, now I need to get the bumper done).

Secondly the door: I woke up early 1 morning, still a little sleepy. I needed to back up my car cuz my mom needed to use her car (no one in my house know how to drive manual). As soon as I started my car, turned to the passenger seat to grab some trash lying around, threw the trash in the backseat, put it in reverse not realizing or checking if my driver side door is still open, backed-up . . . . The next thing I knew, I heard a cracking sound on my left side. Right then I knew it was my door. . I almost teared my eyes off . I couldn't stop hitting myself in the head and asking . . ."whyyyyyyyyyy".
IM AN IDIOT.

The damage will cost me about $1000.
Please don't be like me . . . Be more cautious guys. Hate to see a damage Suby.
p.s. Anyone got a door for sale . . 04 WRX

You're not an idiot, but you might want to start taking your time a bit more when dealing with your car

Cars can be fixed. At least be thankful that no one was injured when you had that rollaway with no one in the vehicle. Or that a family member wasn't standing between your car door and the fixed object when you put 'er in reverse.

That's one thing I was thankful about when my car rolled down. I'm also lucky that there weren't any car passing by at that time.. . it could've been worst.

I learned from my mistake . . . I really pay attention to everthing now when I get into my car, make sure everything is good.

I still think about this incident once in a while, and still beat myself in the head when I think of it

My dad once owned a 1999 Subaru Outback and my mom backed it out of our garage with the right passenger door open because my brother had got in the car and didn't shut the door for some reason. The door bent when it hit our fridge in the garage.

i'm sure many of us can feel your pain.

i curbed my wheel at my friends place when i wasn't paying attention, and nudged a trashcan in my garage.

it sucks... just be glad you didn't run over a puppy or a midget, then you would be really sad.

My truck did a ghost drive once. I started it up in the morning to let it warm up. About a minute later, I hear a knock at the door and someone pointing down the court. I thought that my truck had been stolen, but no, it was all the way down the court. Some how it shifted into reverse. It took out a small garbage can and took out a tree that kept it from going into a house. I fortunately got the alignment done a couple weeks earlier because it drove right between a $50k mercedes and a $40k truck. I was so lucky! Anyways, everyone does stupid things. Doesn't make us stupid unless we don't learn from our mistakes.
