I Lost Traction... How??

I was driving back from LA two days ago and the rain had been going on and off. And to get onto the freeway I had to make a quick right which was a U-Turn (first time making a U-Turn going right since normally its left) and while I was turning I gassed the car a little more and then I started losing traction. It felt like fish tailing in my truck. I was only going like 20MPH too. I got almost 30k miles on my car and my friend blamed it on my tires being balled but when I checked it out it really wasn't. Another friend of mine guessed that the AWD broke (he doesnt know much about cars so yeah).

Does anyone know why this happend? I think it must have been a really slippery road. I dont want this to happen again! At least while i'm just doing a daily drive.

wet road + balding tires + gassing it + corner = traction loss.

AWD does not defy the laws of physics.

30k and still on the stock tires? the re92's are already bad in the rain when it's rain, but then all that wear and tear?? and you had to make a quick turn so i'm guessing that's probably why. tires tread is bad, quick steering and a little bit of gas sends u flying.

You just over drove the corner. Rember, up until a couple weeks ago, we had no rain for almost 6 months. A lot of oil and grease is on the road and the first few rain showers make the roads slick.

New tires might help, but the RE92's aren't that bad in the rain.

i was going up this wet twisty road and i lost traction. the back end started to come out and when i would floor it then let off the gas, it would come out further, and then i'd hold the gas and my car would point in a different direction than it was travelling. did i break my AWD?

Yes. It is broken. Your only choice is to donate your car to charity and use your tax deduction to buy an SRT-4. You don't have to worry about breaking the very delicate awd on those, they are too fast.
