Hey can I have your opinion?
My name is Leroy and I just turned 18 in January. I currently own a 1988 s-10 and it has 237k miles and its getting tired. For about 4 years ive been a very big fan of WRC racing. I love all the cars and I give them and the drivers credit, but I really like the subaru 55 rally team. Now, im graduating this year and already have a job at a body shop where im getting my apprentice in the collision field, so my future is stable or is pretty much stable. Im not going into college since I found a real good job teaching me what I love to do, so all im gonna be doing is working after High school. . My insurance is cheap since im on my moms policy, our payment is 385 $ every 3 months and thats for my moms car, my s-10 and 1966 Truck. During the summer ill bring home anywhere from 200-300 $ everyweek. Plus im saving my money now to put as down payment, and depending on the money i get fro graduation, i might put 1k down then use the other money for performance parts (remember, it depends). But overall im looking into buying an older subaru impreza, perferably blue with true rims, not those base model hubs. A RS would be awesome to get, a wrx is out of the picture right now lol. What do your guys think? Im a big fan of subaru and would love to have one but You also got to link into practicality. Thanks roy (im also single lol)
PS:What does a stock subaru impreza run in the 1/4? Also an RS?

My opinion.....
Everything you described seems to be really nice! I cannot believe you guys are getting your cars before me!
*crys in the corner* I'll be turning 18 this fall
The older Imprezas are great! I'd say you should hold off on the mods. Because you know, it's very addicting! I'd say you need to mod yourself on car control. hehe... Seriously, you don't want to be the Rally drivers with your car when you get it. There are some GC6/GM6 owners who've somewhat tried to be rally drivers and they hit a patch of sand and off they go off a cliff or into the ditch.
There are many mods to make the vehicle corner and handle very well. Sometimes it may make the car faster than you, as in cornering and responding too fast for you to react. There are also turbokits and bolt on modifications. Ask what you want and info will be brought forth.
The first generation Impreza L will run anywhere from 16ish to 18ish depending on model year. The 2.5RS (GC/GM body style) will do it in the 16's as well. Its 1320 may suck but it's really a fun car to drive and many who have or owns the vehicle loves it!
