Help - Newbie!
Hi Guys
My wife today wants to buy on of these.....
http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~sco...view/1994.html
It's listed as a ..........
2000 Subaru Impreza 2000 Turbo AWD,
1997, R reg . silver, excellent throughout, airbags, air con, pas, alloys, e/w, e/m, s/h, MoT Oct, tax June . £7,500.
Is this good value for money ?, it's got 98k miles on it. Is it really over 200bhp ?
I know nothing about these cars but have heard good things..... any pointers to if this sounds a good car and things to watch for / running costs...
Thanks in advance

Yeah, good cars indeed.
I'm assuming you are in england? We didn't get that model here in the states. The first ones we got were 2002 models. We had a simular model, but non-turbo, with a bigger engine.
It is AWD, really safe, quick, handles like a dream... and very practicle.

Thanks........yes UK, we've been looking around some more and we can get a WRX for the same money, and I think the extra power will help get the shopping done quicker
I'm a biker so find it hard to get excited about cars (generally find them slow and boring) but this looks something alltogether different

from what i can tell, the '97 looks like the 208bhp UK version, and is almost the equivalent of the current UK WRX. If it's in good nick, the price looks like a steal (check out www.whatcar.co.uk and www.parkers.co.uk).
the '95 looks like a real enthusiast's car. it's almost certainly a "grey import" from japan, and i'd love to see what's REALLY under the hood. (JP subies have traditionally "understated" their hp). you may get a bargain, but then again you might end up with a lemon, or probs with insurance, parts, etc.
most of the people on this board are from the US and don't know much UK subie history (me - i'm a paddy waiting for the INS to boot me out). i'd recommend you pose the same question on a UK website such as:
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/
hope this helps.
