have you bought on clearance or special?
have any of you guys bought your wrx's on clearance or on any specials? I believe in may i saw in the paper teh msrp's for the wrx around 26-27k and were marked down to 21.5k -22.5k and i think that is a great saving. do u guys know around what time next year they will have it. cars usually have these deals when the next year model comes out. do you think the 05 models will come out sometime next year between march and june? any input will be great. i'm a student who doesn't want to pay that much as it is for this car. you all know how that goes.

I know a guy that works at the subaru car dealership in Roseville, CA. I met him when I went to get my wrx. A couple of months later, I saw him at a casino and was talking to him. He said that we got a good deal on ours (me and my cousing bought together so it be cheaper...$24,500 out the door). But he doesn't work there anymore. According to him, anything that the dealership can do during specials, they can do under normal circumstances...my brother in law says the same and he's a manager at Ford...just gotta negotiate like a ****

Do some research online, talk to savvy friends (here is a good start) and I'd recommend doing some reading on the subject - check your local bookstore.
When you walk onto that lot, you want to be armed with the invoice price - what they actually paid for it (before kickbacks, incentives etc) - the price you want to pay (taking into account invoice and optional extras), the trade-in value of your current car (if applicable), listings from at least a couple of other dealerships nearby and most importantly a game plan - are you gonna haggle with them or make your offer and stick to it. (I did the latter, made it clear I was serious and got what I wanted... and I'm a novice)
If you are not prepared to walk off that lot at any time or you have not done your research, you might as well hand the salesman a blank check because you are at his mercy.

oh, i know i'm gonna haggle well, cuz i'm gonna take my dad. he got his accord on clearance and got a great deal. he brought the paper of what other dealers are advertising and they honored it. i read online that salesman hate it when a smart person comes to their dealership with some kind of folder or any paperwork because they know you did your homework.
