The HKS BOV isn't that lound, I have it installed on my car also with a HKS carbon Titanium Cat back exhaust. gives the car a deep sound. the BOV got louder once I installed the boost controller right now i'm boostin at 17psi, I guess depending on how much boost your producing, depends on how loud it will be. i honestly would go for a turbo back just to get more horse but then you have to worry about all the Non Cat laws. what's the boost creep issue??? as for all wheel drive tranny's the sti is a real strong one so it shouldn't really matter but if you blow your center Diff. then $$$$$$$$

by the way I only have a WRX not a STI
hope this answered a few of your questions

Why do you redline it? You should break it in properly (<4k rpm until 1000 miles). I know its hard to keep the rpms low but this way you'll have a nice broken in engine. Besides, its sill fast no matter what rpm you're at

1) Subaru put the DCCD in for a reason. Most dealers don't know what they are talking about.

2) Lots of people have and will recomend the HKS, but there are lots of exhausts out there to choose from.

3) I would take it easy on your engine. Read your owner's manual. The 1000 miles comes faster than it seems. If you break the engine in correctly, it will last longer and make slightly more power.

4) Try to find a sound clip. My opinion is you really don't need it, but the sound is cool, I must admit.

My dealer says theres a Fuse you can remove to make into rear wheel drive(used only for state inspections)...is this true?
I think you may have been fed a line here. Great choice on color. I have the white/silver combo. Do break in the engine with shifts under or at 4k. Do not redline till at least 1k miles, and you should refrain from messing around with the dccd till 1k miles too just for good measure. As far as exhaust goes, I'd go to a meet with other WRX/STi owners and listen to the one you like. That is of course other fellow i-clubbers gather in your area.

As far as the Boxster goes... well, I waisted one with my old RST running only 4 psi of boost and a slipping clutch. They handle pretty good but lack the GO. Also, when I did have the RST, I used the Geddy type s bov and it was very loud with a nice whooosh and whistle. Classic too fast too furious stuff. The noise got to me on long trips. Also, you may encounter a CEL if ou vent to atmosphere completely. A half/half bov may be a better way to go. Congrats on your new STi white/gold. Post a pic and share the love.

If it is converted to rwd there is a big chance that you are gonna brake your rear end/driveshaft with all the power going through it. If the driveshaft/Ujoints brakes at the front of the car it will be catapulted unless there is a driveshaft loop. Just keep the car in 35/65, it is all the rwd the car needs (for now).
