I would stay away from the 08's. They just didn't get the job done, 09's + if you like that body style, they stepped it up without breaking the bank.

According to a forum on sale stop on NASIOC the 09's have engine failures.

We were discussing this in a different thread, but most of the 07+ cars had engine problems. If it were up to me I'd get an RS and build it/04-06wrx or STi/ 09+ wrx. I'd also get it tuned asap.

08s are only worth getting if you plan to do an sti swap later on imo. either that or leave it stock as a dd. :-)

08s are useless due to that they stuck the td04 in a legacy style turbo in there. 09+ or bust with the vf series turbo in there.

I took the 08 WRX inspected at a mechanic shop and the only things they found out is Brake Inspection: Front 20% and Rear 30% and need to replace all 4 tires. Needs a new air filter. How much do you think this will cost to replace?

If you're doing brakes. Buy from knsbrakes.com full package of rotors pads lines fluids should be less than 400. Just do it once and right you know? Filters can range from 20$ or so at the dealer or an aftermarket drop in for around 40$. Also of you're needing new tires. What kind of driving do you normally do and are you planning on getting wheels because if so get stuff for the new so you're not double buying. Hankook ventus v12s handle great and are really cheap. Common sizes are plentiful.

I was talked out of buying a similar 08 WRX. The consumer reports pretty much black labeled the car. I was looking at about 30k miles, 1 owner with 1 reported rear-end collision for about $20k. Glad I didn't get it. The numbers sound good, but the reports come back unsatisfactory. Go with the '09s or newer.

Thanks, I ran a car fax and nothing was reported to car fax.

As for getting the tires, brakes and air filter I will do some shopping around.
