btw, how lame can subaru make the stock wheels for their "sport" line-up (wrx sedan and wagon)?? they need to get that segment together

I got some pics of a white STi today. I also saw the new black; it is like the 02-03 color but with much less blue(just a few little sparkles in the light)

To me it sounds like if all the flare is is "stuck-on" to the outside of the fender, the minute you drop the car you'll have rubbing issues, no? ...did they acually hollow out some of the inside of the fender?

I seriously doubt Subaru would go to all the trouble and expense of redesigning the rear fenders to make them wider and then stick a piece of plastic on each one to make them appear even wider still. With the '05, you can get wider tires on the rear if you don't slam the car; the "official" (legal?) test is to look down at the tires from the top of the fenders at standard ride height to make sure they're not sticking out past the bodywork.
After all, Subaru has to worry about using a ride height that meets Federal and state laws for things such as headlight positioning--or the majority of people who live in areas where the roads aren't glassy smooth and need all the standard wheel travel the stock setup offers.
