FWD Drag Car?

If someone where to build a strictly drag car Impreza, would it be effective to build a FWD.
How much power would you gain from not having the drive train loss of AWD?
Has anyone ever seen any decent FWD imprezas??
Just thought it as an idea

the whole thing about drag racing with fwd cars is traction, or lack there of, with aws, you can actually put the power to the ground

Ok then say you have 2 imprezas both have same engine and what ever modifications.
One is AWD one is FWD. ON the dyno which would make more power?

the fwd would put more power to the wheels since you have the same power distributed between 2 wheels instead of 4, less drivetrain loss

but when you are at the track, with fwd, you are just going to spin the tires half way down the track

this is all assuming the car is not stock and has more power
