First time snow drift
As of today i am a proud owner of a 2002 wrx. I just bought it from my dad. I have been driving it for a while so dont think im some stupid little kid that just wants to mess around. It snowed today in nj and the side streets aren't plowed. There's a lot of space so i was wondering how to drift in the snow safely and the right way. Can someone please help me out?!

Real easy, try it in an open parking lot for safety. Come into a turn with a higher rpm (1 lower gear than usual for current speed), tap the brakes, turn and accelerate. This will slow down the front tires and before the diff can control spin so the rear kicks out. You need as much torque on tap to do so. If in an STi, spin the DCCD to 60/40 turning and when coming out switch to 50/50. Have fun.

haven't tried it myself... but you can also hold the button on your ebrake, pull it up slightly when entering a corner (don't let it lock into place) and your backend should slide out when your rear wheels lock. Make sure there's lots of snow down or you'll probably flatspot your tires.
Again, safety is key when practicing slides... so find a nice empty flat parkinglot.
