factory subwoofer with an aftermarket radio
Has anyone tried this? If so what are the connections that need to be made?
Does anyone have the wiring schematic for the audio system that shows the subwoofer?
I would like to keep my sub but change everything else (I need all the space I can get for my job) cause the factory radio stinks. I drive 40k plus a year and the radio is my best friend.

Yes, it will work just fine. The fac sub is just connected to the rear speaker outputs. Just hook everything up for the aftermarket deck as normal and it will work just fine. If you have an 04, don't forget to hook up the power antenna wire, the power runs a signal booster that is mounted under the rear dash.

I had the factory sub and installed a new deck in my car and blew the sub. I have no idea what happened, but it didn't even blow the fuse... the sub just stopped working after a few days. If you're gonna spend the money on an aftermarket deck, you might as well start saving up for a new sub anyway.
