Differences between STi Limited and normal STi

Sorry if this question has been covered before,

but i couldn't come up with a legit search line.

I was wondering what are the drawbacks to buying an STi limited.

The prices of both are exactly the same and i put the 2 side by side (subaru's website) on different mozilla windows.

I can't find ANY drawbacks to the limited except the 2 wings; only advantages!! How can a roof spoiler and a rear wing offset leather seats, moonroof, premium sound, and a lip spoiler?

Thanks for the replies in advance

-Calvin

if it has a moonroof that adds a bit of weight for the equipment to operate it, but as for performance i think they are identical, so if are not going to use it as a pure track-1/4mile car, then the limited is a very nice choice

Weight on the roof affects handling more than acceleration. Higher center of gravity. If you watch two cars slalom, you can see a visible difference from jsut 8 extra lbs on the roof.

That said, unless you are serious about peak performance, I still agree that go with the one you like more

The two wings and the diffuser are all functional and offer significant downforce at speed, but again a peak performance isse. Depends on your goals/uses for the car. To me, all this stuff was very important.

I would also guess that you could get a better deal on a non limited below invoice, where as I dpoubt they will do as much with the limited

From what I've seen at the dealership by talking to the sales team and our techs, the differences are the STI limited has leather, moonroof, and few other cosmedics. The moonroof will play a part in performance do to extra weight. Its all up to what YOU want.

The limited is to woo away the types that want M3s because of how classy they are.

bright blue hotwheels with whale tails arn't for everyone.

I forgot to mention I respect the "classy side" of the STi but I for one want my "rally car" to look like one.

Starting with the headlights.....

And others don't like the attention from the troopers.

I believe I read where someone on another forum weighed a stock STI Ltd and the weight came to 3383 (fuel tank level not listed) compared to the listed curb weight of the standard STI at 3351. Of course, the moon roof will add weight to the higher center of gravity.

The average driver probably could not tell the difference.

- Leather trim
- Sunroof
- Front lip
- Small rear lip
- Two colors only
- Silver Enkei wheels
- Black Brembo calipers

That's what I can think of. But here:
http://www.subaru.com/shop/overview....mmand=overview

Honestly, I'd take one (in white!!) over a standard STI, all day long. I appreciate leather, and love sunroofs. So for me, it's a match. And I could care less about a few extra roof pounds, that could be easily countered with a simple set of Prodrive springs.

No die-hard track enthusiast would ever buy/convert/modify a car with a sunroof. Or if they did, they'd weld it shut. But I'm not one of them.
