Difference in Impreza RS pre-97

Does anyone know if there is any particular year of an Impreza RS AWD 2.2L that was any better than any other one? (Only before 1997 please)

There were no Impreza RS' before 97 the first year was 98 IIRC. The 2.2 litre impreza's were known as just impreza's or the L's I'd say if you were going to get a pre 98 just make sure it's OBD I so you don't have as strict smog regulations. The older L Impreza's are also weigh quite a bit less. like at least 3 hundred pounds.
