Nope. not even a hint. Im sure we would see it in Europe (where diesels are very popular) and Japan before it came here.

It's my assumption that the U.S. is trying to rid our road of diesels with the exception of big rigs, tow trucks, and other commercial vehicles.

VW hasn't been able to sell their diesel cars in CA for a couple years if I recall correctly, and I'm not sure if they'd be allowed even if they had zero emissions....

One thing I hadn't noticed until recently, is that Diesel is now MORE expensive than super unleaded!!! what a ripoff, eh?

The rumor I've heard is for Eurpoe first, and probably not into the US until diesel regulations are fixed in CA.

Diesel in 2007

http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/d/79174

It contents the information, that a flat-4 diesel-engine will be available in 2007 with the all new Impreza and later on in the Forester- and Legacy-models. The new Tribeca should receive a flat-6 diesel engine not before 2008.

Greetings, Juege

Hmmm...interesting. I have always liked Diesel. Better gas mileage, better towing capacity. We will just have to wait and see.

I heard on the Chicago Auto Show on ESPN that they want to bring more diesel's to the US, but as nKoan said, they have to fix emissions to fit CA standards first. They were also saying about the diesel's already available in Europe that they are faster than gas engine cars (of the same make & model) by up to 1 second quicker. They also plan to increase the octane quality of deisel so it burns cleaner.
