cleaning the rims
hey. i'm pretty good @ getting the brake dust of my rims. problem is that there is this wierd stuff that won't come off. i've used rim cleaner on it and it still doesn't work. i need to practically scrape it off with a sharp object. any ideas on what this is and how to get rid of it? thanks a lot.

does it look like melted plastic? that may be from the tires or just things flying around on the freeway, then got stuck onto your wheels, and melted by the heat of your brakes. I would just recommend removing the wheel, hosing it down and clean it by hand. Wheel cleaners don't work too well and they cost too much.
