i can. not all of them but most ive raced. Last night was the first time ive lost to an evo. It was an evo9 MR. he was pushing 30psi on c16 gas. needless to say he kicked my A$$.

With your mods, you are not making more than 240WHP. Any WRX with VF34 will make that. STi's do that stock..

I am not hating. I am just being realistic. I don't see a turbo RS beating even a stock EVO. Unless they don't know how to drive.

30psi EVO on C16 would be pushing close to 500WHP. He will walk away from you like you were standing... And, he will also walk away from most WRX's and STi... Those biznatches are fast...

yeah thats my plan i'm going to go to auto cross this year and start track racing. it'll be the first time with all wheel drive so i'm pretty excited!!!! i already know i that i'm not (or at least not with out alot of time and money) going to beat sti's and evo's right away, but i didn't just mean beat them cause my hp is out of this world, i think if would be more fun to beat one with less hp on the track than more on a the strip! i'm not really into dragin. so maybe thats why i think that way!

Anyway you guys are awsome! thanks for your support again, plus anyone here live in chicagoland????

what kind of suspension do i need for my car? well what would be a could one without spending my right leg and arm???

please reply i'm going to be track racing and don't know much about suspensions so i need to be learned! : )

Actually the RS is easier to drive faster because you don't have turbo lag and auto-x courses tend to be short and the don't have enough room to leg out the turbo. You should be able to beat a lot of cars w/ skill and the faster throttle response of an NA car.

1+ Also the Rs is lighter than the wrx and even if you drop in a wrx motor in it would still be lighter =P Don't let those haters influence you. Just turn hone your skills and turn around and say " IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT POWER YOU RICERS!!" =P

The important thing is to research all the parts you are interested in and to just get what you want. Just throwing parts on the car isn't going to make it any faster or better to handle. And second of all, it does hurt when people hate on you, but it's your car and your money, and as long as you aren't doing something completely ridiculous, most suby owners should repect that. Congrats on the purchase of your car and have fun with it!

edit:as for suspension...tein flex ftw! But it does depend on what kind of driving you are going to do.

You didn't waste your money.

I bought a new 2004 TS. I could have bought a wrx, but I want to pay the high insurance premiums, high gas prices, low gas mileage (from driving harder) and the chance of getting more tickets.

You buy what you need and can afford.

and evo's here are running mid 12's there are a few running 12.1 and 12.2 and one running 11.91

so i would have to say a 12.222 can beat most sti's and evo's out there

Kyle...I'd invest in a good set of swaybars and endlinks as well as good tires first. They will make the biggest difference in your suspension. After you gain experience with that, change out more of your suspension, piece by piece. Master your car at each stage so that you will really appreciate your upcoming mods. You will realize that by learning your car carefully from stock to highly modified, you will be able to drive it better than somebody who slapped $5k in mods in one day w/out learning how to drive it first. I cannot stress how much driver skill plays a part in being fast around a track.

However, when you feel the time is right to upgrade your parts, research them *carefully* first. What do you look for in a ride? Sometimes, bone-jarring stiff isn't the best thing as a suspension setup. Balance is the key. Also keep in mind that it's the tires that put all your hardware to the ground. A good suspension and braking system won't mean anything if you're rolling on crappy tires. Invest in some Kumho Ecsta MXs, Falken Azenis RT-615s, or BFGoodrich KDs or KDW2s, depending on where you live. They're relatively cheap and stick well, especially the KDs, RT-615s, and the MXs when heated up.

When the time comes for a major suspension upgrade, i.e. coilovers, I'd suggest a setup with good adjustability characteristics. The aforementioned Tein Flexs are alright, but I'd point you in the direction of the Cusco Zero2Rs. Contact Alex (Imprezer) about these. I believe he can recommend the spring rates for you. It's important to learn and understand the adjustments and settings on the coilover system so you can appreciate the potential in your setup.

Then go drive again....and again, until you get closer and closer to the potential of your car.
