bolt sheared off behind turbo
Hey,
I was connecting my new down pipe to the back of my turbo on my 2004 wrx and one of the bolts sheared off. I connected the rest of the four bolts but i know have an exhaust leak with my check engine light coming on from my o2 sensor (leak is in front of o2 sensor) and possibly having my engine running rich. The bolt that had sheared off is down kinda at the bottom behind the turbo. I don't know how to get it out without possibly taking out my turbo and drilling out the bolt. Any suggestions?
Thanks

thats probably a stud that your talking about. and your check engine light is on probably because you have a catless downpipe without a mechanical cel fix. get a new stud and bolt on and a mechanical cel fix and you should be fine

Instructions for removing studs from the up-pipe (i think this should work for you...):
1. You will need to heavily soak the bolts on your uppipe with WD-40 or Liquid Wrench. Lots of this stuff works best. The tricky part is to place (2) nuts onto the longer thread of the stud bolt in opposite directions. (IE: Place both "shoulders" of the nuts facing together on the bolt)
2. Tighten these (2) bolts together on the stud and then try to remove the stud bolt from your old uppipe with a wrench and a friend standing on the uppipe to keep it balanced (a table bench and a vice clamp would have be wonderful here)

Ya I'm sure it's a stud but where the stud broke off was down below where i have to see how I'm going to get an easy out in there. Taking off the turbo seems like a hassle and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable doing that so.
