Alternative to Mud Flaps

Hey,
I have been running 245/40/18r RS3's on 18x9.5 e38 Grids and the side of my car is getting sand blasted because of the wider wheel/tire combo. What options do I have in terms of providing some protection from the gravel and rocks spitting up from the road by my tires? I'm not very fond of Mud Flaps and I don't want to Spend the $5k+ for an New Paint job and APR widebody with kit (yet).

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of an affordable alternative that looks good on a 2006 STI. It's black, and any car owner who has ever owned a black car, that they wax and maintain on their own, understands my plight when ever they detail their car. Awe F@#$k another chip!

Thanks!

I already have a clear bra on front bumper and vulnerable spots on the hood and front fenders. I don't want to cover my whole car in clear bra...but thanks for the idea.

You don't need to cover your whole car just use a strip.

The 3m spray looks promising...have you ever used it? How did it affect the natural look of the paint and did you have any challenges removing it? How do you remove it? Do I have to reapply after each wash? Thanks!

In terms of the clear bra...I guess i could just cover the bottom 10cm around my car. However, do you, or anyone for that matter, know of any side runners or ground kits off hand that may work like mud flaps? i.e. - Runners that are wider at the ends than the stock runners on a 2006 STI? Just trying to explore my options here before I make a decision. I'm just look ing for something that doesn't look too hokey. Thanks!

I haven't used it yet but plan to. The product just came out I think. Reading up on it and watching the videos it lasts up to a year and you can wash and wax your car as you please. It's $25 on Amazon, not bad if you ask me.

Id say clear bra works the best. as many have said you dont need to wrap your entire car. just the places that are affected. front bumper, hood, fender, and for the rear id say just the rear and bottom quarter of the rear doors should work. I have the same tire setup and havent had much issues. all of the chips are up front. are you taking your scoob in the dirt with that setup?
