99 Outback
I just found this board and from a quick glance it appears to be mostly for speed freaks, but I will ask my question anyhow.
I am looking at a 99 Outback (Rocky Mountain edition) with 65k on it. I test drove it and other than a little rough at idle it seemed okay.
The stealer is putting it through their shop today and the head saleseman is a friend of a friend so I trust him more than usual. Is there anything that I should look out for on this model or year? BTW, they want just over $13k for it which he said was wholesale (12500) plus whatever their shop costs are (including $275 for 4 new tires).
Any advice is appreciated.

Look at the old tires. If the front's or rear's are significantly more worn than the opposite axle it means the tires have not been properly rotated. This can put stress on the center differential over time.
Subaru's tend to feel a little rough at idle due to the boxer configuration of the engine, so that should be nothing to worry about.
Other than that, just normal car stuff...does it leak fluids, etc...
