98 OBS - $4500 to spend - turbo or NA?
Hi guys,
I just picked up a 98 OBS with 56k miles at a good price. It's a 2.2L with 137hp which is pretty doggish for a car this heavy.
I've driven an '02 TS Wagon and it was reasonably powerful. Enough to make me jealous
I would like to emphasize low-end torque in my mods, and if I got near 180hp at the wheels I'd be thrilled.
It's a daily driver, and I'm going back to school next year, so reliability is key.
So, should I pick up a Stage II turbo kit from ludespeed (doing brakes and suspension later on when I can afford it)?
Or should I go all motor and build it na? Hopefully that would leave enough $$ to do the brakes and suspension sooner.
Just looking for some ideas - pros and cons of each approach.
Thanks,
maharashii

ahhhh the thing you can do with an obs. mine is bone stock and i am happy. however with that money i would wait and try to go for an ej20 conversion. but if you want to spend now go for the turbo i, or i would anyway...
