hey all. my brother was looking in the paper, and he found a 96 impreza for sale. it has 60k miles on it, auto, blue, and is supposed to be in good shape. the price is 6gs. prior to this, i didnt know there was a 2.2l engine, i asumed it started with the 2.5 rs. can anyone tell me if this is a good buy? its supposed to be in top condition and was maintained well. i can get more info if needed. thanks.

 

Yup, the Impreza L originally came with a 1.8L engine, but then a few years later they added the 2.2L engine. So that is original, and never had a 2.5L engine in it. Infact, the 2.5L engine never saw the inside of an Impreza until 98, and even then, North America was the only country that got that until 02. Anyways, the price doesn't seem to bad, considering the lower milage, and if it is in really good shape. The auto takes away some of the sportiness, but makes a good platform for a turbo setup, since the auto can hold much more power than the manual. But you didn't mention whether it's an AWD of a FWD. I think 96 is when everything went to AWD, but I'm not positive, so I ask.

and also, this car wouldnt be one i drive too fast cuz its just gonna be a dailydriver type. im also planning on getting a car just for autocross, but one im willing to bag.
