2009 Subaru WRX ........ Starter went out!
So I have 15000 miles on my 09 wrx and my starter went out Friday afternoon! Originally the subaru dealer tried to say that my remote start alarm knocked my keys out of the system and shorted out the transponder. And, that I would be responsible for all repairs. They messed with it Monday and Tuesday and couldnt make it work by changing all the parts that have to do with the transponder. Then they finally checked the starter and figured out it was bad. And, now my warranty will cover it.
I am so friggin pissed its not even funny! First they tried everything they could to blame me(I have been a 12v technician for over 20 years and have forgotten more than thier 18 year old snot nosed mechanic knows about automotive electrical systems). Now because they couldnt figure it out sooner I have to go without my car untill after the hollidays. Which means I wont be able to go out of town to visit my family for Thanksgiving because they have a stupid mileage limit on the rental(which I am paying for because they are not a big enough dealer to have a loaner car program).
I really like my wrx but I am starting to wonder if I made a huge mistake buying it. This is the third time its been in the shop since I bought it. The first time was for paint issues and body parts falling off. Then they wrecked it while they had it and didnt bother to tell me about it. So when I found out I took it back and made them fix my front end right.
Is anyone else having this much trouble with Subaru?
