2004 Sport Wagon
I am curious as to how your new 04 WRX drives. I am conteplating getting a 2004 WRX Sport Wagon, and test drove the 03 version over the weekend. I thought that the suspension was a little soft. Do you know if the suspension on your new 04 is any different that your previous WRX? Thanks.

If you reread my post I said "Sedan base sticker is 25,045". I beleive BASE STICKER does mean MSRP! Good luck finding a dealer that will let an 04 go the day they get it ( the first day they are avaliable anywhere) for less than sticker. If I waited a month, then yes I could have paid less than sticker, but I paid sticker and got "free" options. Basically they couldn't write it up for less than sticker. Remember you have quotes now for a car in a little time. I have had my car since Friday and made the deal thursday night. The car was on the lot Wednesday night after they closed, so I bought it THE DAY it arrived technically.
As for the suspension, it might be slightly stiffer, but I haven't pushed it yet as I am still "breaking it in". I have gone into corners with speed, but I haven't hammered it out of a corner yet, nor will I until the odometer reads 1000+. Also I hadn't driven my 02 for 3.5 months and I have been driving a pickup in the interum so it feels very still compared to a pickup. If I had to bet though I would say it is SLIGHTLY stiffer, but not too much. You want a stiffer car the STi would probably be what you want.

I was correcting the price as he said he saw a price that was not a true sticker price. He then admitted to switching the 2 so I was right. I also was pointing out sticker prices, and then you come along and tell me I am wrong!? I know what my sticker says (I OWN THE CAR, DO YOU?) and I know I paid less than that. I also bought my car the day they came out and no one else here has one yet, so please don't tell me how to negotiate. I know I paid more than if I had waited a week/month, but I had the money, and my peace of mind and having this whole ordeal over after 3 months was worht it to me and my wife. I spent the insurance money anyway and I got my new car and I am happy with the price I paid. I paid ~$400 more than I would have with an 03 fully loaded at the only dealer that had a silver 03 sedan. I wanted a particular car, and this was the only way to get it. Had I taken a blue one instead, yes I could have saved money, but then I would have a blue car not the silver I wanted. There is only 1 03 silver one in my area at a dealer than charges too much, so I was to pay too much for a silver 03 and save $300 or get the silver 04 Friday for that $300. Thanks, but the $300 is worht it to have my car back and be done with this whole mess. It was %1 more, but I am happy and driving an 04 wrx. How many other people on this board can say they bought an 04 WRX the day they were avaliable for less than sticker? Can You? Quotes are one thing, but I own the car already.

ah man. so i assume that you were hitting maybe 24,5-ish? maybe even 25. That is outrageously preposterous!
You didn't even get the moonroof/heated seat/spoiler package either?! oh man.
wow. that really sucks.
It's ok though, what color did you get? The silver one?
Anyways, i have a prediction. I think in about 5-8 years from now, the 02-03 wrx's will be considered a cult classic, hence the round bug-eye lights that (maybe) subaru will never ever duplicate (too many mixed reactions towards them).
But they will be considered a rare commodity in due time. Just believe it.
Anybody think so?
